However, his route won't be without perils, including the sirens of the sea luring men into madness with their songs and the encounter with the enigmatic witch Circe, not to mention Polyphemus, one of the Cyclopes son of Poseidon and Tanaës. After inciting the wrath of the god by blinding Polyphemus, Odysseus will spend years.
