However, his route is not without perils, including the sirens at sea who lure men to madness with their song and encounters with the enigmatic witch Circe, not to mention Polyphemus, one of the Cyclops, son of Poseidon and Tuthmosis. After inciting the wrath of the god by blinding Polyphemus, Odysseus will spend years.
