Your data, in plain sight
We collect the bare minimum to help you go out and meet people. Fomoster is in a testing phase: here's what we handle and why, plainly. No selling data, no third-party advertising.
Fomoster is in testing (beta)
- Test project. It's a personal project under development, free and non-profit. It is not a company.
- Use during testing. As it's in beta, the data you enter may also be used to run, test and improve the service (fixing bugs, understanding what works). We do not sell it or use it for advertising.
What we collect
- Account. Email and password (the password is stored encrypted, never in plain text).
- Profile. Nickname, profile photo and the interests you choose. These are public to other users; your email is not, it stays private.
- Activity. The events you save or attend, your friendships, messages between friends. You can hide individual events you're attending from your friends.
- Notifications. If you enable them, we store your device's push subscription. You can turn them off anytime from your profile.
What we DON'T do
- We don't sell or share your data with third parties.
- We don't use profiled advertising or third-party trackers.
- We don't show your email to other users.
Why we can process data
We process data to provide the service (performing our relationship when you sign up) and, for optional data (date of birth, gender, location), based on your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time. We may send you service communications and updates by email; you can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the bottom of every email.
Cookies
We only use strictly necessary cookies: your login session and language preference. No profiling or third-party cookies, so no banner.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data as long as you use the service. You can ask to edit or delete it (including your account) at any time. Data is hosted on servers in the European Union (France).
Events and sources
Events come from public sources; maps use data © OpenStreetMap. Fomoster aggregates and links back to the original source. Are you a venue owner or event organiser? You can request removal of your content from the Report page.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, receive a copy (portability), restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent. Manage your profile, notifications and blocks from settings; for any other request, write to us from the Report page. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante).
Who's responsible
Fomoster is run by a private individual (a personal project in testing). For any request about your data, use the Report page.
Minimum age
The service is for people aged 14 and over.
Security, transparently
We handle data with care, but being in beta we can't guarantee the standards of a finished product. Don't enter sensitive or confidential information you wouldn't want to share.
